TECHNICAL ADVISORY

OWNER’S ENGINEERING (PV)

Control the technical and contractual risks of your PV plants, from development through handover.

OBJECTIVES

Owner’s Engineering aims to represent the owner’s (or investor’s) interests to ensure the quality, compliance, and performance of a photovoltaic power plant.

We act as an independent third party, supporting project teams to secure technical decisions, reduce non‑conformities, and enable a smooth handover with minimal punch items.

Our approach

Typical scope (tailored to each project)

1. Design review
  • Layout review (footprint, access, drainage, compatibility with site constraints).
  • Equipment selection review: modules (technology, warranties), inverters/transformers, mounting structures and foundations.
  • Electrical review: SLD, protection schemes, DC/AC cabling, earthing, surge protection, standards compliance.
  • Yield assessment and loss assumptions review.
  • Independent yield study (if needed).
  • Drafting/alignment of technical requirements (specifications, technical schedules).
  • Technical evaluation of bids and supplier clarifications.
  • Review of key clauses: acceptance criteria, tests, performance ratio (PR), liquidated damages, warranties, availability.
  • Document reviews: schedule, procedures, inspection and test plans / quality records.
  • Site visits: progress, installation quality, HSE compliance (in coordination with your teams).
  • Targeted checks: strings, cabling, torques, labelling, routing, substations, electrical tests.
  • Deviation management: non‑conformity register, corrective actions, punch‑item tracking.
  • Support for pre‑commissioning and commissioning tests (FAT/SAT where applicable).
  • Review of test reports, protection tests and grid‑code compliance.
  • Handover support: punch list, taking‑over certificate, snagging item closure.
  • Warranty follow‑up support: monitoring plan, KPIs, review of the first weeks of operation (optional).
