Layout and energy yield assessment of an 8 MWp PV project under development in France
Project Context
The client asked 8.2 Advisory for engineering support on technical resizing of an agrivoltaic project in France. The project included a constraint of nominal capacity and a limited coverage rate requiring a review of the design and the production potential.
Scope of Work
8.2 Advisory provided the Client with:
- A general review of the initial layout;
- An update of the layout plan, considering the revised coverage rate and the nominal capacity cap that can be installed on the plots,
- An update of the 3D model layers, including site topology and nearby shading created by surrounding hedges and vegetation,
- The choice of an alternative technology for inverters and modules, to limit losses and respect the maximum coverage rate,
- The resulting energy yield assessment using PVsyst software.
CONCLUSIONS
- Updated layout compliant with land and easement constraints
- 30% coverage rate achieved as targeted by client
- Change of module type and inverters, and revised neighbor shading within the model, that did not reduce site-specific yield performance
- Permit application submitted
